After building and scaling a seven-location physical therapy practice, our founder recognized that traditional revenue cycle management structures were not designed to address the root causes of revenue underperformance.
Through analysis of millions of claims across years of healthcare operations, one conclusion became clear: Revenue Cycle Complexity — operational issues created across registration, authorization, documentation, payer processes, and systems — is a primary driver of reduced revenue, slower time to payment, and increased cost of being paid.
Revenue Cycle Solutions was created to quantify that complexity, measure its impact on billing time, and engineer a structure designed to improve revenue cycle outcomes.

Leadership
The team behind the model
Robert Kowalick is a healthcare entrepreneur and revenue cycle architect with more than four decades of experience in clinical practice, multi-location healthcare operations, and revenue cycle management.
After beginning his career as a hospital-based physical therapist, Robert founded Optimax Physical Therapy, building the practice from two employees and one location into a multi-million-dollar, seven-location organization with more than 150 employees. He later sold the company to NovaCare, Inc., where he led post-acquisition integration and financial performance oversight for the Michigan market.
He founded Revenue Cycle Solutions in 1998 — originally established as Reimbursement Specialists — to address the structural deficiencies he observed in revenue cycle management. Over more than two decades, the company evolved from a billing service into an outcome-based revenue cycle management partner. Robert later founded Ascend Solutions, creator of the Practice Data Solutions (PDS) platform — a revenue cycle time analytics and intelligence system that converts billing tasks into revenue cycle data and business intelligence.
Dan Loch brings more than twenty years of IT and business leadership experience, including over a decade focused specifically on healthcare, medical billing, and revenue cycle technology.
Prior to joining Revenue Cycle Solutions, Dan served concurrently as President of EZClaim and Eye Cloud Pro, leading growth, operational alignment, and customer-focused product development within the healthcare software sector. That experience gives him a deep understanding of the operational and technological challenges facing modern medical practices.
As President, Dan is responsible for the overall health and strategic growth of the organization, with a focus on sales, marketing, and business development. He holds a Bachelor of Science in Systems Engineering, a Master of Science in Software Engineering, and an MBA from Oakland University.
Julie Miles is a revenue cycle management leader with extensive experience optimizing healthcare financial operations and aligning clinical workflows with sustainable revenue performance.
Julie brings deep expertise across the full spectrum of revenue cycle management, including coding (CPT, ICD, HCPCS), accounts receivable and denial management, clearinghouse and EDI processes, and payment reconciliation. She has led initiatives implementing best-practice processes, strengthening compliance, and improving operational efficiency across healthcare organizations, including large-scale BPO partnerships.
As Chief Operating Officer of Revenue Cycle Solutions, Julie oversees operational strategy and execution across the organization, working closely with leadership, clients, and internal teams to ensure revenue cycle systems, processes, and performance metrics drive measurable results.
